Brief Therapy has come to mean many things to many different professionals practicing many different perspectives. Today we understand brief therapy to encompass many post-modern therapy perspectives including narrative, solution-focused brief therapy, the MRI approach, and collaborative, client-centered, outcome informed practices. Brief Therapy is not about a limited number of sessions but rather about focus in ones work that serves to be the most effective and efficient approach. The BNTN has been created to assist Mental Health professionals in connecting with each other and to promote brief & narrative therapy as we have come to understand it and shape it. Through networking and idea sharing our aim is to help continue and grow the thinking of the past pioneers in the field. Through sharing our work and discussing innovative ideas we hope to continue to develop and fine tune this highly respectful way of working with people to create human change. We are committed to bringing you a high standard of information and training opportunities. In partnership with Brief Therapy Training Centres International(a division of The Hincks-Dellcrest Institute), we have developed a network that not only promotes the highest quality of training, but also provides our membership various opportunities to share their work. In times when the influence of managed care seems strong and the pharmacological industries posses huge amounts of marketing money, we must continue to remain as useful to the people that consult with us as much as possible. Throughout this web-page you'll find a sample of what the Network is talking about and sharing through newsletters, roundtable conversations and in getting connected with like-minded people.
